SALES SPECIALIST

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for conducting and overseeing sales transactions of educational materials from prospecting to closing, both in the office and in the field.  With integrity, enthusiasm, and a strong knowledge of the K-12 market, the sales specialist will assist educators and administrators in making informed decisions about purchases.  This position requires 30% to 50% travel to show text-based and digital products at educational conferences throughout the nation and to call on school districts and other educational entities.  The remainder of time will be spent in the Salado, Texas, office assisting with call-in orders, marketing, and other office duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inform educators about company products and provide them those products that best meet their needs
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with K-12 educators and other customers
  • Represent the company with integrity, courtesy, and professionalism at educational conferences throughout Texas and the nation
  • Develop and deliver engaging presentations to educators
  • Transport materials to and from conferences, and set up and tear down company sales booth at conferences
  • Take call-in orders in the office
  • Assist in developing marketing materials
  • Stay apprised of changes to educational policies and standards

  • Flexibility and excellent problem-solving skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Physical ability to lift and carry supplies (up to 50 pounds) for conferences and stand for extended periods of time while working the company sales booth
  • At least three years of related work experience in sales, preferably in educational materials
  • Teaching experience in K-12 preferred
